Neuromodulators

Neuromodulators are anti-aging treatments that can significantly improve the appearance of expression lines on the face. If your expression lines are beginning to define your appearance, and your anti-aging skincare routine isn’t improving those lines, we have plenty of options to meet your needs.

Botox

Botox is the most well-known neuromodulator, and it can smooth expression lines on the forehead, the outer corners of the eyes, and the frown lines that form between the eyebrows. We can also use it for some off-label treatments including:

Smoothing bunny lines
Treating upper lip lines
Treating marionette lines
Performing an eyebrow lift

Results will appear within the first week after an initial treatment but can take up to two weeks for full effects, and will last anywhere from three to six months.

Xeomin

Xeomin is a neuromodulator designed to treat frown lines, and it is different from other treatment options because its formula is free of additional proteins. Injections to treat frown lines will improve the area’s appearance within the first three to four days, and results will last three to four months.

Jeuveau

Jeuveau is another injectable that uses a purified protein to treat frown lines. During your initial consultation, we will decide if Jeuveau is the right choice for you. Upon initial injection, Jeuveau results will appear within the first two to three days and can last five to six months.

Dysport

Dysport is another injectable treatment designed to treat frown lines. We can use it to help patients achieve a younger and well-rested appearance. Results appear after two to four days and last approximately four months.

How the Treatment Process Works

The first step to treatment begins with a consultation, followed by your actual injection appointment. You will receive post-care instructions after the procedure, and an initial follow up appointment will be made two weeks after to assess your results. The final step in the process is scheduling your next appointment for treatment, dependent on individual results.

Your Initial Consultation

We offer several different neuromodulators to treat aesthetic imperfections resulting from expression lines, which is why an initial consultation is so important. We use this time to learn more about your treatment goals, your medical history, and any previous experience with these types of injectables. Any questions you may have about the treatment process and the products will also be answered during the initial consultation.

Once we confirm that one of these injectables is right for you, we can design your treatment plan. We will also use this consultation to evaluate your expression lines in person to determine how much product it will take to help you reach your cosmetic goals.

Your Treatment

Before your treatment, you can promote the best results by following some pre-treatment instructions, including avoiding blood-thinning supplements and medications and alcohol consumption for at least 24 hours before your scheduled treatment.

We will cleanse your skin at the injection sites and administer Botox, Xeomin, Dysport, Jeuveau, or a combination of both per your treatment plan. Depending on how many areas you want to treat and whether you want to combine neuromodulators with other cosmetic injectables, you can expect your treatment to last less than 30 minutes. Once treatment is over, you can resume your normal daily activities.

Post-Treatment Care

These appointments are quick and don’t require downtime, but we will provide post-treatment care instructions. It’s important that you follow these instructions to ensure the best outcome. You’ll be asked to avoid strenuous workouts for at least 24 hours after your treatment and continue avoiding blood-thinning supplements, medications, and alcohol consumption.

You should also avoid anything that elevates your body temperature including workouts, steam rooms, saunas, and hot tubs. You should avoid touching or putting any pressure on the treatment sites.

Follow-Up Visits

Follow-up visits are important, especially for those who want to maintain the most consistent-looking results long-term. These neuromodulators deliver long-lasting results, but typically after three to six months, results begin to fade as your body processes the ingredients in the injectable and your wrinkles begin to reappear.

You can avoid this with regularly scheduled follow-up treatments every three to six months as needed. Some patients find that they need fewer units at follow-up treatments to achieve the same results.
